The Choose Life license plate went on sale August 2000 after four years of work to make it a reality. On February 13, 2006 the total sales passed the $4,000,000.00 mark. There are now 42,000 plates on the road in Florida. Choose Life, Inc. does not receive any portion of these funds, as the Choose Life bill requires they all go to Pregnancy Care Centers, Maternity Homes and non-profit adoption agencies within the county where the plate purchaser resides.

Choose Life, Inc. raises all the funds used to promote the sale of the Choose Life license plate in Florida and also to help other states get the Choose Life license plate approved through contributions and the sale of Choose Life promotional products on our web site.

So far, we have been able to increase the sales each year without spending any of our scarce resources on advertising, but the percentage of increase has fallen steadily from a high of 15.3% to 2% last year. We have climbed from 45^th place when we were first approved to the number 8 position as of December 31, 2005. In an effort to make this plate the number one selling plate in Florida, we have decided to test an aggressive advertising & promotional campaign that will put a Choose Life license plate display in each license plate office in the state and also begin placing Choose Life license plate advertising flyers in the renewal notices being sent out by a DMV contract agency. We intend to “pilot” this effort in three counties (large, medium and small) before we try to go statewide.

We have designed the flyer (click here to see front) & (click here to see the back) and have bids on printing and distribution costs for a first run of 500,000. The cost will be $12,745.00 and $2,500.00 has already been pledged. If only one tenth of one percent switch to the Choose Life license plate, it will raise $10,000.00 a year for the cause which is about a 100% yearly return on our investment.
